October and November here this time!

Pretty colors
Russ is off in New York for a job Interview. He'll be back Thursday, but he teaches a class Thursday night, so he might as well not be back until Friday. In the meantime, it somehow got to be October. Yay! I am so glad to be done with September, which was a lot more trouble than it should have been.
Of course, many of you can't see this post yet because the site repointing is still in transit. But I think it should soon all be resolved and even I will be able to see the site.
I'm trying to get work done tonight, and I'm just not concentrating very well. Time to quite being lazy and just get to the work, I suppose. I've been busy with everything else but what I should be doing!
Off to work I go! I'll be up for a few more hours tonight!

Work, work, work
Yes, it was that kind of day. I worked on a couple different things for people, and even managed to get a good amount of writing done. I hope to get more of that tonight. I did not get much off my list, though. I should probably do a couple more things there as well.
What else?
Nothing. Really, nothing at all. It's been a boring day, and except for working on Silky 2, I can't say there was much of anything of interest.
I'm not taking the archive pictures down yet since the journal hasn't really been up anywhere for the last few days. I hope that straightens out soon!
But right now -- time to get back to work on stuff!
October 3, 2007
Another late night and not nearly enough done! I did get this little picture done for the FM site. I think it's cute! But that's about the most creative thing I did all day. My writing has been piecemeal, and I'm trying now to get the last bits of it done. I didn't get much else off my list at all, in fact.
I do see that the site is showing up -- and not well. I'm going to upload everything again and see if I can get it looking right.
And I'm going to get more writing done.
Russ should be home from New York tomorrow, but I think he'll barely make it in time to get to his class to teach. I bet he's going to be tired tomorrow night!
It'll be good to have him back. Talking the cats just isn't the same some days.

Heron
Russ is home from New York! Yay!
We won't know anything about the job for a while, of course.
I'm starting to get fired up for NaNo. I need that, because this year has not be a 'fired up for writing year' for the most part. I've done well, but nothing particularly outstanding. I've enjoyed it, but I don't seem to really be moving forward very fast. And no, I don't see how I could make a million words this year. I think I'll survive it!
Other things? Odd weather -- another thunderstorm.
But most important is that Russ is home. He has a class to teach tomorrow, but I might catch a couple glimpses of him this weekend. (grin)
October 5, 2007
Okay, I'm doing better on writing again. Back to the 4k a day stuff, and really enjoying the story (the sequel to Silky) that I'm rewriting. This is fun. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed these characters and their world.
It's interesting doing this rewrite, though. I see how much I had left out in the previous version, written a few years ago, I think. The story is growing on me, which is good!
The weather has gotten warmer again. Why does it keep doing that?
What kind of winter are we going to have?
If I get paid soon, I might buy myself a Canon camera. Yeah, moving away from Sony for the time being. We'll see. But it calls to me, and I think I could use something fun!

More lovely colors!
I had to turn the air conditioning on for a little while today. Yes, it got that hot in the house today!
The high today is supposed to be 68f. Right now it's coming up on 5 am and it's nearly 74f already. Or maybe that should be still, since it never really cooled off. There's no sign of storms in the area, either. I think this could be a problem.
On the other hand, it is nearly 5 am and I get the feeling I'll be sleeping through most of everything anyway.
Writing is still going well. With luck, it will stay that way through this month and next month. I am trying to get fired up for NaNo, but it's been up and down. I think that's mostly stress over things like site moves, but we're done with that -- right? Twice in one month is enough for anyone!
So, that's it for the night. Time to upload this and go to bed, rather than starting back in on the story. Tomorrow, I need to put the rest of the newsletter together -- at least as much of it as I have -- and get it ready for inspection. That won't take too long because I've done most of the work already.
All is pretty much all right.
Except for this weird weather!

Playing with older pictures
I just found this one on my hard drive. It's an interesting shot from Squaw Creek Wildlife Refuge taken about seven years ago, I think.
I mostly worked on the newsletter today, but it's done and up for the test run. Tomorrow I'll have things to correct, and by Wednesday I'll have a few more things to add in. But I'm done with it tonight, and that means I can move on to other things! Like more writing! Yay!
And that's what I'm going to go do right now. I've been looking forward to this all day, and I've had fun with the novel so far, so I think it's a good plan!
October 8, 2007
I wish I could get myself motivated a little better. I need to get an attitude adjustment again! I wonder how often I need one of those things!
All in all, things are well enough. I'm just running out of time again. I'm working on getting caught up on a number of things before the dreaded start of NaNo. I have not looked over my outlines, though. I had better do that soon!
I have a bit of a cold. That's annoying me, too. I hope it clears up soon, but considering how the weather is changing toward the colder stuff, I suspect that won't happen soon.
Ah well. I'll just hide out here in my office and work away. . . sniff, sniff, sneeze, sniff.

Silky 2 is moving along very well! I'm enjoying working on it, which is nice. I worked a bit on other things today as well, and I really think this was one of my better work days in a while. That's strange, because I started out feeling so really horrible that I ended up taking medications and crawling right back into bed.
So, even bad days can turn good by the end.
I have too many unfinished projects this year. Most of them are nonfiction, and I think I'm going to combine a couple of them into novella writing-related stuff. Yes, I think I like that idea! We'll see if I can make it work!
But, overall, I'm pretty happy with how things are going. Right now, though, I need to get this uploaded and then let my computer close down so I stop getting that 'need to restart' message that's driving me crazy!

More Pretty Colors
Sff.Net is down tonight, so I can't upload this.
So I'm not going to say much.
I have a cold. It's getting cold.
That's it.

Edmond
Yes, I often have to try and work with cats acting that goofy.
I am not going to linger here tonight. I'm tired and I want to get this done and go off to bed. There's nothing new to discuss anyway! Book is still moving along. I am not any closer to ready for NaNo.
I've fought a headache all day.
That's it.
October 12, 2007
I have been doing snippets of Kat Among the Pigeons over on my blog. We have the little Friday Snippets thing going, which is kind of fun, when I have time to get something up there. I wish had time to read more of what people post as well, but it's just been crazy this month, and next month can't possibly be any better.
I'm thinking maybe about mid 2008 I might have a breather, providing nothing else goes wrong.
Right.
But anyway, I forgot how much I enjoyed this particular book.
The work is going fine, too. I've nothing to complain about, except that it's getting cold. But then I like snow, so I suppose I shouldn't think too badly about this, either.

The Perfect Tree
I have loved this tree for years. Really. It's across the street from me, and I don't think there's ever been a more lovely tree. The house recently sold, and I've had this fear that they'll cut the tree down soon. People around here love to cut trees down. I'm sure they pick up their saws and look at my yard with longing, but so far I've mostly saved the trees there. Years ago the neighbor tried to cut down the trees on our side of the line, but Russ talked him out of it, though he had already pretty much killed one. Now we own the other house, too, so that won't happen again.
If we'd had the money, I would have bought the house across the street just to make certain I saved the tree.
But it's still there this autumn, so I get to see the wonderful colors for at least one more year.
I haven't gotten a lot of work done today. I don't think I will, in fact. And I don't care. I'm going to do some fun stuff, away from the computer. Yes, I do move away from the computer now and then! It isn't easy, but I can manage it!
Just have to get caught up on a couple things here. Shouldn't take too long!
October 14, 2007
Lovely colors
I have the newsletter more or less done, after a near disaster where I used the wrong template. Boy was that annoying after working so hard on everything else! So I had to copy code from one spot to the other. Not horrible, but still very annoying!
But that's done. Tomorrow I'll have a few updates for it, and then off it goes.
Looks like I'm going to the zoo on Wednesday! Yay! That should be fun!
Still working away on other things. Silky2 is going very well. I wish I had more time to spend on it! Just the same, it's getting there!
And that's it for me for the night. I'm off to get some other things done, and then get some rest!
October 15, 2007
A silly picture I did a while back
I think it turned out kind of cute.
I am going to the zoo tomorrow, so this will be short. I need to get to bed and try to sleep for a few hours.
Other than that -- nothing really going on here. We'll see how things look in a few days.
Off to bed I go!
October 16, 2007
Zoo day!
I had a wonderful time, but I am incredibly tired now and I have some work I need to get done. So this is a short entry. I'll post and then I won't have to worry about it any more tonight.
I want to go to bed!
October 17, 2007
I know I've said it before, but I love the colors of autumn. It's been a nice year for it, too.
I've been busy. I'm trying to get caught up and not doing very well, but I'll keep at it. I can't believe how close it is to NaNo and how totally unprepared I am for the event. This should be interesting!
Russ may be taking a full time job in New York. This will mean he goes and lives there for a year or more before I can join him. This does not really sound like a wonderful plan, but work around here has been getting far too slim.
Sigh.
October 18, 2007
The Strawberry Thief
I like this one. I think it came out cute.
We are having a real wind storm tonight, which means the end of the lovely leaves on trees for the year. Now we go into the bleak, everything looks dead part of the year that will last until the first snow -- if we get snow at all. We're starting to get the cooler weather, but it's also supposed to dry up over the next week.
I'm just worn out the last few days. It's not even 11 pm and I would love to go crawl into bed for a while. Or maybe take a nice long, relaxing bath. That appeals to me.
Still working away at Silky2. It's doing very well, in fact.
And that's it for tonight!
October 19, 2007
Pretty places
The site is down, but I'll write this anyway. It's likely going to be a couple more days before it's back up, too. Stupid mistake, having to do with the lost Jatol account. But I'll get it sorted out soon.
We had clearer weather today, but it's colder tonight now. Ah, yes -- the joy of winter sneaking in on us. I'm sure at some point soon I'll be wishing for summer storms again.
That's about it, really. I'm tired! And I still have work to do!
October 20, 2007
Pretty light
Well, there are problems with my website and I don't know when this will go up, so what's the use of actually writing anything?
I think I'm going to go crazy. It's seems like a nice, viable option, don't you think?
October 21, 2007
Edmond
We are no closer to getting the journal back on line. I think I should just go pound my head on the wall for a while, for all the good some of this does me.
But I have faith we'll get it worked out soon. I hope. Next week we should be able to reach the people we need to and get everything sorted out.
I really believe it. Honest.
October 22, 2007
Lovely Tree
Isn't that a lovely little tree? I wish I had one like that in my yard, will all those gorgeous colors!
NaNo is coming. NaNo is coming far too soon, in fact, and I have a ton of things that I need to get done before hand. I should probably be worried about it, right?
I do have an outline, though I would like to flesh it out a little more. I wonder if I'll have time.
And no, the site is no closer to being up.
October 23, 2007
Edmond
Isn't that a great picture? He's such an odd little cat -- but very loving.
I finished The Iliad tonight! I enjoyed reading it, I enjoyed thinking about it -- I did not like any of the characters except Hector (sometimes), and I thought the Greeks were horrible barbarians. But all-in-all, it was interesting to read it again after so many years. I think I even understood it this time.
Still no news on the website. Ack.
October 24, 2007
Interesting colors!
I like playing with the graphic programs sometimes. I'd like to have more time for it. Maybe next year.
We finally heard back from onlinenic -- the place that we have to deal with in order to get my zettesworld.com site back. Unfortunately, what they wrote bck to Russ had absolutely nothing to do with what he wrote to them. So we're still stuck.
I'm really tired of this.
But we'll get there.
October 25, 2007
Pretty
Okay, so we're not there yet.
But we are inching far too close to NaNo. Gah. I have so much to get done, and part of me just can't get up enough enthusiasm to do any of it. I have been forcing myself to get things completed and out of the way, but it hasn't been easy!
I need something really exciting to get me going. Okay, I'll take something mildly interesting and not stressful. There's a plan!
But my plan right now is to go get a few more things done off my list!
October 26, 2007
Lovely Fallen Leave
I am happy to report that we are actually closer to getting this site back. I don't think it will happen this weekend, but we've had contact with the right people and things are moving ahead, finally. This is just getting to be so annoying -- but soon it will be fixed.
I'm getting things moved off my MUST DO BEFORE NANO list. There is still one big thing left and some worrisome things, but I'm still close to ready then I thought I would be. Well, all except for that plot stuff and all of that. But hey, it's NaNo -- I don't have to worry, right?
I do have outlines -- they're just not what I would like them to be.
So, off I go to do something about that, I think. It's about midnight. I think I can take an hour or two to go over one of the outlines and see what I can do with it!
October 27, 2007
I see hope!
Yes! Onlinenic has accepted my sacrifice of dollars, and it appears as though my site will be back up soon! That being the case, I'm going to upload all the things I've been writing in here lately. I didn't bother the last few days.
NaNo is drawing perilously closer. I am no more ready than I was at the start of the month. Maybe less so, now that I think about it. Nevertheless, I will be leaping in. I will even have fun!
I saw the 's' word in the Weather Bug forecast for November 2. Not a certain snow, but a maybe light rain or snow Friday night. Ack. I don't think I'm ready for the white stuff quite yet.
We went out and had dinner with friends tonight. it was fun, even though it put me a bit behind again. I'll just have to work a little harder over the next few days.
But right now -- I'm posting this in the hope that my site comes back soon!
October 28, 2007
The Lovely Road
We went for a wonderful ride this afternoon out to the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center and Stone Park. It was (as you can tell from the picture) really beautiful out today. If we hadn't got the flat tire, and learned the tire is ruined and can't be fixed, it would have been a perfect day.
But still, I got some lovely pictures.
I have the newsletter done -- at last until they send me more things to add into it. I am going to start on putting Vision together tonight so I can begin to get it out of the way as well. We're only three day away from NaNo, and I'm no where near ready. I don't think that's going to matter much!
Oh, and it looks as though everything is settled for my website here. it may take a bit for it to show up for people again, but it looks good!
October 29, 2007
Lovely Colors
Tonight I re-injured my hand again. It hurts like mad now, so this is going to be short. I have to say that I am NOT happy about this, especially since it had started to feel better. We're only about 48 hours from NaNo!
But I'm going to have fun with NaNo anyway.
And that's it for me tonight!
Pretty picture though! And it looks like all the sites are back and running, so things are good!
October 30, 2007
Fallen tree
I have twenty-four hours until NaNo. I can't see how I can possibly be ready in time.
But I am getting things done. The new Sangre Story is up. I barely remembered it in time!
I have a good amount of Vision done, but I'm missing a couple things.
I have almost all the chapter done for the fantasy writing book.
I have not done the FM updates yet, but those shouldn't be too hard to do.
I do not have all my other writing done, though. And forget anything else!
This is not going to be a good NaNo year.
October 31, 2007
Beautiful Colors
Okay, we're now three hours until NaNo starts for me. I am, amazingly, somewhat closer to being ready. I'm trying to get all the extra stuff done early (like this post), so that I can settle in with my outline and maybe have a clue about what I'm doing. I don't know if it will help or not, but I'm going to give it a try.
I have FM updated and Vision up. The fantasy chapter is done, but I want it to sit for a day or two before I re-read it and send it off. I've already done my picture for the day, and I posted the Sangre stuff yesterday. The big thing I have left is to finish Silky2, and I'm close to it, so I don't think I'll have a problem there.
As long as I get myself over to working on it!
Which, of course, is where I'm going now!
