September 1, 2013

So, here we are in September.  Right.  Is this month going to go any better?  It is starting out okay.  A bit cooler.  Getting newsletter done.  Thinking about writing.  Going to pull the InDesign book over and start working on it as well.

I can't say I'm feeling great, though.  Not really sure what's going on, but food does not agree with me at all and I'm still feeling run down.  Getting things done, though.

So off to start the third of the year.  Hope I can get stuff done soon!

September 2, 2013

We had lovely weather today.  Really, very nice.  The windows open, a slight breeze, never got over 80f.  It was nice and relaxing, and though I didn't get a lot done today, I still feel better for it.

It is going to be warmer by the end of the week, but we might get a few storms, too.  I'd like to see that -- more rain wouldn't hurt.  When we were briefly out tonight, I noticed how many trees in the neighborhood are just dying.  I hope things improve here soon.

Other than that, nothing to say.  I hope to get a bit more work done, and that's about it for the night.  Then I can read!

September 3, 2012

Today was DAZ and ACOA day.  Lots and lots done, but not as much writing.  That's okay.  Right now I'm ready to go off to bed and read, I think.  It's just before midnight.  I'll have the last Bess Crawford done soon.  Then I am going to be really in trouble looking for something new to read.  I suspect I'll go to something nonfiction for a bit.

Tomorrow is housecleaning day.  And writing.  Tonight, I just want to get the last bit of work stuff out of the way and relax.

September 4, 2013

Busy day.  I got a lot done and I'm down to working on page edits for DAZ and finishing the first draft of Tom Luck.  Now that I'm down to the end, I can see a number of things I want to change, so I'll be doing quite a few notes on it as well.  That's what first drafts are for.

I also didn't have an outline for the last half of the book, which is another problem with it.  I'll be trying to get those outlines for NaNo done soon.  I obviously haven't a brain without them these days.

I'm half way through editing Badlands.  Yay!  I think I can get this done as well and out by the end of the month.  So, overall, things are looking good at the moment.

September 5, 2013

Finished The Legend of Tom Luck today!  Yay!  Finished it off with a lot of notes on what I need to do to change it in the rewrite, but it's good.  I just realized I hadn't managed a lot of stuff I needed in there to build up the tension and make Tom's decisions harder.

Also wrote the newest installment to the serial, so that's good, too.  Going to be editing and working on outlines for most of the next two months.  That should be interesting!

September 6, 2013

Outline for the first Path novel is moving along slowly, slowly -- but it's there.  I see little pieces.

Editing for Badlands is going much better, though.  I'm half way through the novel.  I will have it done and published by the end of the month, so I'm good there.  I'm not sure what I want for October.  I hope to do the Sangre stories for November, so that means getting them edited as well. That should be fun.

Okay, time to get back to work here.  I've also been doing some house work except my back is killing me.  Other than that, though, things are going well enough!

September 7, 2013

We had a chance at getting the car fixed yesterday, but alas it did not happen.  It will be fixed on Monday, though.  That's good.  It's been awful not being able to go anywhere or do anything.  Even driving as far as the store makes me very nervous.

And the weather isn't pleasant either.

That's about it.

September 8, 2013

I have been editing and redoing cover art.  Life is good in that respect, at least.  I finally have a cover template I think I can use for about everything.

I should have Badlands done soon.  This is good.  I think it's going well, in fact.  And the outline for the first Path novel is picking up a bit, too.  So over all, things are good on the writing front.

Weather sucks.  We had 100% humidity last night and it was not raining.  Ugh.  You could drink that air.

But really, back to work.  Get writing done.  Have fun.  Sounds like a plan to me!

September 9, 2013

Well.  Already about a third of the way through September?  That's going far too quickly again!

I don't know if the car is fixed or not.  I haven't had a chance to talk to Russ yet today.  Got DAZ word one, got some edits and a bit of outline -- and I'm ready for dinner, so I think I'll go see how Russ is doing and what he thinks.

Other than that?  Not much of a day. Way too hot!  No kitties are happy.  No humans are happy.  And I am having trouble focusing on work stuff and not flittering around.  Ugh.

Food might help.

September 10, 2013

Getting editing done.  Getting other stuff done.  A bit of this and that here and there and it helps.  Russ and I watched Man Trap tonight (first Star Trek) and really enjoyed it.  It's been a long time.

My right knee is giving me trouble.  I find this very, very annoying.  I've been riding my exercise bike each night and I think that's part of the trouble.  Then I knelt on the bed today and the pain was very bad.  I didn't think I'd be able to get back up.  This is extremely annoying.  I am planning on going to the zoo.  ARGH!

Anyway, back to work.

September 11, 2013

12 years?  Doesn't seem possible.

We are certainly not a better world for any of it, either.  But we're where we are.  There is no going back.

I'm not getting a lot done today.  I hope to start connecting better again in a few days.  Just work up to it.

September 12, 2013

Today I worked on editing and on Surviving Elsewhere.  It's been an interesting story to work on at 1k a week.  I need to start thinking past this set of events off the start now and see where I can take it from here.  I have scenes in mind, but not so much a plot.  Makes it very interesting.

I have stuff to get done tonight.  And I am close to done with the edits of Badlands.  I suspect I'll be finished by the end of next week.  Yay!

The outline isn't going so well, but I'll get it done.  My fear is not having four done by the time of NaNo.  We'll see.

September 13, 2013

Quiet day, really.  I got some work done on various things, did a lot of editing and not much else.  I feel really worn down.  I think that might be the change in weather.  It's getting cooler again.  Yay!

Although, as Russ pointed out, now we have to start thinking about keeping the house warm.

Other than that, nothing at all to say.

September 14, 2013

Yeah, trying to get Badlands done.  I just keep getting ensnared in new little things that I want to change.  But I'm getting there.  It'll be good to have it done and up.  Then I'll work on the October release -- and then the November one, so I have it ready before NaNo hits.

Not busy, no.  Oh, and don't forget Vision.

Other Books

September 15, 2013

Badlands is going up on Smashwords right now.  Okay now it is.  It lost the cover image the first time.  Sigh.

So, what now?  I must get some writing done.  Outlines, mostly.  Editing of major stuff for the next couple months.  Ruins?  I have been thinking about it lately.  And Don't Go Home for the Holidays.  Fun stuff for the November release, but a lot of work before then.

There's just too much I need to do and I'm starting to feel annoyed and stressed that it's taking so much of my energy.

Other than that, quiet day.  I would like to think I'm making progress on life, but so far, not so good.  LOL

September 16, 2013

Monday again, huh?  Well.  What is going on?

(Looks around)

Nothing.  Everything seems to be dull and annoying right now.  I need to get myself involved in some good story telling stuff soon or I'll just go crazy.

Or clean the house.

September 17, 2013

No, can't say today is much better than yesterday, except that I've started the final edit of Don't Go Home for the Holidays.  Now, if this doesn't put me in a better mood, nothing will.  It's just plain silly.

I am also nudging at the outline for NaNo.  One of them.  With luck, it will actually start moving soon.  I only have six weeks till NaNo and I need more ideas.  Ack.

But otherwise, it's going well.  Well enough.  Boring, but good.

September 18, 2013

Tonight I spent about an hour sitting in the library parking lot reading my Nook while Russ went in and did research.  That was my big night out.  LOL

I'm adding new chapters to the outline -- a new POV, and it's working much better than I had hoped.  This is going to make a reasonable storyline out of it.  Good.

Besides that?  Nothing at all.  Tired.  Annoyed at stuff.  Ready for a change.

September 19, 2013

Okay.  Really.  I need something fun and exciting to happen again before I got crazy.  If I have to stare at this computer one more day . . .

Oh, I'll survive it, but I have to say that it's been a long summer without nearly enough to take my attention. There haven't been many interesting birds at the feeders.  We haven't been able to go anywhere hardly at all.  Everything is just getting dull and worse, it's starting to get cold.

September 20, 2013

Okay, a few hours out of the house helped.  It looked pretty out there.  And if we're lucky, migration will start good and we'll have all kinds of interesting birds through the area.  I hope so.  That would be fun.

I am mostly working on the Sangre set for release in November.  Yes, that's right -- I'm getting something done ahead of time.

Outlines are . . . well, they're outlines.  I hope for some good ideas soon.

September 21, 2013

I got an ear ache last night that kept me awake all night and into today.  this is just been miserable.  I should have realized this was coming on from the way I was feeling.

I just watched the new Star Trek movie.  That wasn't too bad, really.  I'll go back and watch the original one as soon as it turns up again.

In fact, I am in the mood to just watch things.  That's one way to step out of the current boring world and do something adventurous.  Usually I'd do it by writing, but there is nothing coming into place for me right now.  Yeah, we've seen that before.  It won't last for long.

When Russ got up this morning, it was 38f out.  Ack.  Just ack.

September 22, 2013

Russ has been back for a year!  It hardly seems possible.  I wish we'd had more time to really spend together, but his job just takes about every free minute it seems.  Still, we have dinner together if nothing else!

It is nice to have him back.  I just wish his job would get better and he'd have more fun!

September 23, 2013

Lots of stuff I meant to get done today.  Did not happen, unfortunately, but I did get a few things there. And I'm seeing the end of the first Path outline and the start of the second one.

Right now I'm thinking I see the bed calling to me, though.  Wow am I tired out.  Not getting a lot of writing done, but that's okay.  Still getting there eventually.

September 24, 2013

I am mostly working on Vision stuff today, but I keep slipping aside to get a couple other things done.  I am down to the last couple entries in the outline I'm working on, unless I decide to add a whole new section at the end.  I think, though, that the new section should go into a second novel.

Getting things lined up for Vision is the toughest part this month.  We're running out of time!  But I'll get there.

It is good that we have another month before NaNo, though.  I'm still not ready, despite having two outlines pretty much done.  This, I think, is going to be a tough year.

September 26, 2013

I did considerable work on Vision tonight, which is good.  I also finished up my serial entry for the week.  I am waiting for things from DAZ and I hope it all gets pulled together without a lot of trouble.

End of month.  Need to get other things together and just be ready when October hits.

I also need an idea for my 3rd outline.  I'm thinking a fantasy novel, maybe.

Ugh.  Time to sleep and read for a while.  Or maybe it's the other way around.

September 27, 2013

Oh ack.  Just ack.  Yeah, the month is going fast and I'm falling farther behind.  One of the things I want to do is finish the current volume of the Cambridge Ancient History that I'm reading.  I've been holding back on that for too long.

We went for a lovely drive up to Stone State Park today, though.  That was very nice.  Especially since the car is now working properly.  Yay for something going right!

September 28, 2013

Another trip to Stone State Park today. The weather is lovely and the leaves are starting to change.  We even saw deer, which is very rare in that particular park.  In fact, you rarely see much at all except for hills and trees.

Too many things to get done still.  But I am almost done with the book.  That's good right?  And editing.  I might yet make it.

September 29, 2013

Close to done with Don't Go home for the holidays.  This is good.  Helpful even.  But wow . . . end of the month insanity, as usual.

Though there is one odd thing going on.  I will not be doing newsletters in October. They're going to do them all in house for the month.  Wow.  I almost don't know how I'll handle it.

September 30, 2013

End of the month!  I got Don't Go Home for the Holidays done, along with the Cambridge book!  Can't do much better than that!  I also have two full outlines finished and about a quarter of a new one.

I also have some great ideas for the new outline.  So I think I'll do all right with it.  And three is a good number, if I can't come up with a 4th story.  It's hard to say right now.  Brain is just not linking to stories very well.  Bad timing!
