September 1, 2015

The last days of August went well and then I seemed to have hit a wall on virtually everything.  Wow.  I am having a really hard time getting anything moving today.  I hope this changes fast because I don't want to start falling behind on things again!

I should probably get to work on the next book for print stuff.  That means working on Mirrors 1 and then Mirrors 2 again.  I think that might be doable.

Can't believe how far into the year we are.  How does this happen?

September 2, 2015

I am working on the fix/edit/prepare for print version of Mirrors.  This isn't too bad, really.  I needed to read it anyway to make certain I wasn't making any major mistakes with Mirrors 2.

I will have these both out by the end of the month.  That should be fun.

Other than that, not much going on.  I want to take some more time with art, but I need to get stuff cleared away first.

September 3, 2015

I need to get a Flash Friday story done and my brain is coming up with the most boring little story ever.  Ack.

I've been working a bit with some Mirrors artwork, but I don't think it's really what I want for the cover.  I'm going to have to rethink all of this.  The editing is going well, though.

September 4, 2015

Oh do I have a headache.  I'm sorry for it because it is really making work difficult today.  I want to get a good amount of Mirrors done.  At least I wrote the flash fiction.  It was awful, but it's done.

I'm trying to work on the covers to the Mirrors books, but that isn't going so well, either.  Ack.  Need better concentration.  Need to figure out what it is I want.

September 5, 2015

I have been managing to get about 3k a day for a while in the writing.  I know that won't last, but it has been nice to feel stories move forward, to see the numbers confirm that there is progress.  Word counts are a nice reminder for me.  I know I'm reaching towards something.

I have only one unfinished novel right now.  I have outlines and articles and all sorts of other things, but novels -- not so much.  Rewrites and edits of them, but not new stuff this year.

It's still going well.

September 6, 2015

We had a nice storm tonight with a bit of lightning -- and as we drove to watch it, Russ realized the car lights were not working properly.  Ack.  He got them back on finally, but it was one of those really worrisome things, on a back, curvy road.

I am working on Mirrors 2: Reflection.  I thought it was going to need far more work than it has.  Sometimes I'm really amazed at how nicely the stuff falls together.  I'm thinking good thoughts on all of this since it's going to be a set of print published work soon!

September 7, 2015

Outlines used to be a lot easier for me than they are now.  I don't know why things have changed.  Maybe it's just this year and I'll get past this slow down.  I sure hope so because I'd like to have stuff done for NaNo and ready to leap out and have fun!

Yeah, I like writing.  It is fun.  I just need to be prepared for it and that's not happening as well as I would like.

I'll get there.  Or close to it.  I think this is going to be a good NaNo, though!

September 8, 2015

A week into the month already?  Are you joking?

Okay.  Yes.  I need to start getting things done, don't I?  I think I'm lucky I don't forget to do the work for DAZ, though it has been close a couple times!

September 9, 2015

We've had some spectacular sunsets again.  I love to get out with the camera on nights like this!  Clears the head out a little, too.  I just wish there were some fun places to go around here -- gardens and such -- where I could just go and take pictures.  That's something I really envy places like Omaha for.  Not to mention their zoo.  I haven't been there in so long!

September 10, 2015

We had some rainy stuff tonight and another lovely sunset.  I wish I lived on the west edge of town or a little beyond it, so that I had a good view of sunsets.  They're always so fascinating for taking pictures!

And since I take pictures every single day, having something changeable would be nice.  The cats are helpful, though.  LOL

September 11, 2015

It's always hard to think about what to say on this day.  I still worry too much over the 9/11 date and expect something else to happen.  I hated it when Russ was in New York.  At last he's home and that helps.

I don't understand people.  I really don't.

 September 12, 2015

The copies of Xenation: Draw the Line showed up today.  Yay!  Now if I can just figure out what to do with them.

This selling stuff isn't so easy, you know.

September 13, 2015

We took a lovely little ride tonight and spotted a great hawk!  Most cooperative bird I've seen in a long time.  Wish the pictures had turned out a bit better, but I was still pleased with what I got!

Other than that?  Writing.  Writing this, writing that -- it will all come to add up to something some day.  LOL

September 14, 2015

An okay writing day.  I need to get some focus on what I'm doing instead of bouncing around so much again.  I hope that settles soon.

I have ideas for a couple outlines to do still.  Can I come up with four good, strong outlines for NaNo?  I haven't done that for a while.  This sounds like a good hear to be really prepared.

Because, you know, that focus problem otherwise!

September 15, 2015

Can I have more time, less work or at least better focus?  That would be okay.  The work isn't so bad, but the focus part is shot.  I want to get caught up on things, have outlines done, and go into NaNo just having fun this year.  That shouldn't be too hard, right?

Right.  It's looking bad, isn't it?

September 16, 2015

I can really feel autumn setting in.  I sometimes like autumn -- I love the leaf colors and all of that stuff -- but I'm a bit worried about it this year.  I've gotten that way lately.  Just don't want to see winter coming too soon, though I keep hearing we should be warmer (and drier?) than normal.  That might help. Though what does warmer mean?  -5f instead of -20f?  LOL

Having a hard time writing.  1k days.  The stories are just not moving.

September 17, 2015

Another bad writing day.  I hope my brain kicks back into gear soon.  We only have a few weeks until NaNo.  Amazing how fast it is coming up now.

I want to have several outlines.  I want to spend most of the month doing nothing but writing novels and escaping into those worlds.  That sounds like fun.

But then I am odd, I suppose.

September 18, 2015

The weather took a drastic leap to the COLD side tonight.  Ack.  It's hard for me to work with such huge changes.  My head hurts.  My mind wanders to things like 'heat room' and 'no snow!' stuff.

I did, however, finally get another 3k day in.  Good.  The first NaNo outline is almost done.  I'm looking forward to writing the story.  I need to fill out more on the characters, but the basic plot is almost there!

September 19, 2015

Well, so far today hasn't been good.  Horrible headache again, cold and in a bad mood from the start.  I tried going back to bed and seeing if a restart would work, but so far I haven't done very well.

I need to get things done today.  I have a list.  I hate the list, but I have it.  I think I'll start with the thing I least need to do.  That might cheer me up.  LOL.

September 20, 2015

A major breakthrough on the outline!  Yay!  I have about 3 chapters left to outline and I'll be done with this one!  I am really, really happy!

Other than that?  Still waiting on stuff for the newsletter, so it's not done.  Edited a few pages on Kat Among the Pigeons and I'm about 1/3rd through with it.

Have to start thinking about the next outline to do.  Or finish.  Yay!

September 21, 2015

Okay, the newsletter is finally done and off.  I have another DAZ page to edit, but beyond that I'm caught up on that work.  It will be back to the outlines now.  A few more pieces and I'll have the first one done.  I hope to get that tonight.  Yay!

Weather has warmed back up again here.  That's really nice, too.  I hope to get some nice tree pictures this fall, though it seems as though most of the tree leaves are dying rather than changing color.  That will likely change here soon.

But now . . . back to work.  I need outlines.

September 22, 2015

The outline to Loyalty, Treason, Honor is done.  I am going to fill in a bit more about a few of the characters, but I could go with it right now.  Yay!  One done, and it looks like it will run from 60 to 75k, depending on how things fall together.

I'm working on another outline now.  This for the second Resurrection novel, a nice little sf set.  I think that one might be a little shorter, about 50 to 60k.  So I clearly am going to need more outlines.

I hope things keep moving as well as they are!

September 23, 2015

We are getting an awful lot of rain.  Not as much as down around Omaha, but certainly a lot more than I expected at this time of year.  Things are green again  And we're supposed to be warmer next week.

I have an idea for my outline.  It's a fun idea.  I should be able to do this.  I hope.

Hard to believe that NaNo is so close.  I better not let up now.

September 24, 2015

The cats are driving me mad.  Absolutely over the edge crazy right now.  I know it's the weather -- they're worried that winter is coming.  They'll be happier when it gets back up in the high 80's next week.  After that . . . well, winter will be here all too soon.  Don't know what kind of winter we'll have, but we might as well be ready for it

I'm working on my flash fiction story.  It's about half way there and I think I know what's going to happen.  Amazing how hard those 1k stories can be!

I need to get it done so I can get on to the art for it.

And it's been nice seeing the stuff on Pope Francis.  Just have to say that.

September 25, 2015

Getting closer to the end of the month.  I am not ready.  I don't have all the articles for Vision yet -- the very last issue.  Sigh.  I don't have stuff ready for FM or DAZ.  The newsletter is not done because I still need something from them.  I hoped to have Kat Among the Pigeons done, but I'm not there.  I might still get that one, but so far it's not looking good.

On the other hand, we did go to Sioux Falls for dinner, so it can't all be bad!

September 26, 2015

Oh, work, work, work.  If only I didn't keep getting these awful headaches, I'd be much happier.  Also, I would like the outline to keep moving.  That's not too much to ask for.  I have one done for NaNo.  I need a few more.  I intend to have a good NaNo this year.

Barely one month to go.  This is crazy. Where did the time go?

September 27, 2015

Had a lovely ride today out to Stone Park, then out to Bacon Creek Park.  And then tonight we had the Lunar Eclipse!  That was great, though I wish I'd had a tripod!

Made some good distance on the last edit of Kat Among the Pigeons.  I feel I have hope of getting it done.  Then it's back to the two Mirror novels.  Over all, it's looking better.

As long as I don't think about Vision or Forward Motion or what I need to do for DAZ.

September 28, 2015

Last night's eclipse was nice.  Best weather ever for it.  I wish I'd had a tripod that works, but other than that, it was pretty nice!

Yes, end of the month panic coming on now.  Just so you know.

September 29, 2015

I have two wonderful sets of tea on the way.  Yay!  I hope they'll be here soon.  Not that I have to worry about running out of tea.  Just . . . new tea.  And a couple new cups.  And a new teapot.  Sounds fun!

Dragging together the last bits of the last issue of Vision is not fun.  I keep putting off my final Editor's Note and all the other little bits and pieces that go into this issue.

But I'll get it done and be happier not worrying about finding articles for the next one.  80 issues is a good run.

September 30, 2015

In a fit of some kind of insanity, I updated to Windows 10 AND Microsoft Office 2016 on the same day.

But you know . . . it all works.  Pretty nice, too.  We've had one problem, though.  The Mahjong Russ and I play every night (1146 games, 1145 won) no longer works.  You cannot imagine how annoying that is.  The other Mahjongs are not the same.  We want ours back!

I'm doing the last pieces of Vision.  I've updated FM already and I have the stuff for DAZ.  Had some bad news there, though.  Someone I've been working with and got along with very well left today.  Sigh.  I hope this isn't going to go back to creating problems again.

Other than that -- Tomorrow is the journal anniversary.  Started this on October 1, 1998.  I have an entry for every single day, though because the journal moved, most of them are just on file now.  But still, not bad.  I think this one goes back to 2007 with a few months from 2006.  Maybe I'll get everything over here some day.

Yeah. Right after I finish copying all the Vision articles into place.

Okay, back to work.
